چکیده

Root rot affecting holm oak is a cause of high ecological and economic losses in the Iberian Peninsula, highlighting relevance developing disease control methods. The aim this work was to assess effect biological treatment composed beneficial organisms (Trichoderma complex, T-complex) on seedlings infected by Phytophthora cinnamomi two contrasted ecotypes, one considered highly susceptible (HU) another tolerant pathogen (GR). For purpose, complete multifactorial test carried out greenhouse, were monitored for survival analysis morphological physiological attribute evaluation. Mortality began earlier than (GR) ecotype, showed different trends due inoculation with microorganisms depending ecotype plants. rate better response microorganisms. Physiological and biochemical responses of Quercus brantii seedlings to water deficit stress

Water shortage is one of the most important environmental stresses in Mediterranean regions. Poor seedling quality may account for the failure of oak regeneration. To determine the best seed origin of Quercus brantii, we investigated on seedlings collected from 20 mother trees in the Zagros Mountain forests 700 to 2200 m altitudes above sea level. Seedlings from different altitudes were irrig...

Quantitative RT-PCR analysis of differentially expressed genes in Quercus suber in response to Phytophthora cinnamomi infection

cDNA-AFLP methodology was used to gain insight into gene fragments differentially present in the mRNA profiles of Quercus suber roots infected with zoospores of Phytophthora cinnamomi at different post challenge time points. Fifty-three transcript-derived fragments (TDFs) were identified and sequenced. Six candidate genes were selected based on their expression patterns and homology to genes kn...

Optimization of the Headspace Solid-Phase Microextraction Gas Chromatography for Volatile Compounds Determination in Phytophthora Cinnamomi Rands

Phytophthora cinnamomi (P. c) is a plant pathogenic oomycete that is capable of damaging plants in commercial production systems and natural ecosystems worldwide. The most common methods for the detection and diagnosis of P. c infection are expensive, elaborate and time consuming. This study was carried out to examine whether species specific and life cycle specific volatile organic compounds (...

2-DE proteomics analysis of drought treated seedlings of Quercus ilex supports a root active strategy for metabolic adaptation in response to water shortage

Holm oak is a dominant tree in the western Mediterranean region. Despite being well adapted to dry hot climate, drought is the main cause of mortality post-transplanting in reforestation programs. An active response to drought is critical for tree establishment and survival. Applying a gel-based proteomic approach, dynamic changes in root proteins of drought treated Quercus ilex subsp. Ballota ...
